MEET THE SUNDAY SCHOOL TEAM
Debbie Powell"I have had the pleasure of working with some of your children in Sunday School for the past sixteen years. Prior to my retirement years, I worked in the banking industry. Since retiring, I have been blessed to have the opportunity to spend Sunday mornings with the children of the French Huguenot Church. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and working in my yard. I have two girls, Jennifer and Allison, and two grandchildren, Savanna and Tansley. I am looking forward to many more rewarding years with the Church."

Savanna Powell"I have been working with the Sunday School for four years now with a heart for nurturing young minds in faith and fellowship. With a blend of patience and creativity, I strive to create an engaging and welcoming environment for all of the children. My goal is to inspire curiosity and a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom. In my free time, I am a college student who attends the College of Charleston, majoring in Philosophy and Spanish while studying on the Pre-Law track. I am blessed to guide our youth on their spiritual journey and look forward to the smiles and stories each Sunday brings."

Laura Wood"I live in Summerville SC, and I am the proud mother of two children. My son, Sam, is 17 and a junior at Ashley Ridge High School and my daughter, Jocelyn, is 14 and attends Rollings Middle School of the Arts. I am a 2nd grade teacher at Fort Dorchester Elementary and have my master’s degree in elementary education from College of Charleston. I am in my 23rd year of teaching and love what I do. My husband Jim works for Southern Lumber and Millwork in downtown Charleston. I love to travel, work in my yard, and go to my gym. I recently became a new mom of a Golden Retriever puppy that keeps me very busy. Watching children learn and grow is incredibly rewarding, and I am truly blessed to have had my position at the French Huguenot church for the past 15 years!"
